I don't have the DVD yet, but I hear they edited the first season to show the syndicated versions. However, seasons 2 and beyond are suppose to be released as originally shown.

Considering that I discovered the show by the syndicated episodes, I didn't mind that they were editted... afterall, that is how everyone sees them on Nick at Nite and anywhere else they are shown. It would be cool to see the original versions though, although the majority of people complaining don't seem to realize they're only missing like two minutes and episode. Either way, I am sticking behind the show...

I didn't see the original showing of Roseanne so I personally wouldn't know the difference unless someone either pointed it out or unless I eventually saw the unedited version. However, I have seen the full versions of Boy Meets World and I get annoyed to cursing at times when they edit out lines in the syndicated versions.  What they edit out is usually unimportant and perhaps only a sentence or two at a time, but knowing that certain parts of the show is missing is just annoying. It makes it feel incomplete on some level.  Again, I wouldn't know that feeling from watching Roseanne, but I can fully understand where people are coming from with this complaint.
