Both Vince McMahon and Lex Luger sat down with each other last week and talked about the possibility of working out a WWE deal. Both parties are said to be seriously considering the deal and McMahon was said to be very pleased with Luger's work in WWF the first time.

With the recent signing and soon to debut of Goldberg in WWE, many would lean towards a Lex Luger/Goldberg feud which would rekindle some of the fire left behind from WCW.

As for a return to WWE for Luger, don't expect it to happen at WrestleMania. The two sides only started talking during the middle part of last week. If a deal in finalized, it would not be until around Backlash, the PPV following WrestleMania.

thats pretty cool, I was also reading something about Savage possible coming back too.  WWE needs these two guys to kick them back up again, who doesn't like seeing the past wreslters come back, if Doink came back I would just, i would just, well I guess I would smile

Lex Luger coming back would be great and should kick the ratings up there if they promote his return but the WWE will most likely screw up, like that has never happened before

i would like to see these guys back in the WWE, but it probably will not happen for a while. Remember that it takes a long time to finalize a contract. If they were to come in then I would see it happening at the earliest of Judgement Day or Bad Blood.

Im not really fussed if either of these guys were to come back. Both these guys are exactly huge players and I dont think anyone is needed to add to the roster now unless they are a great wrestler or if they are an absolutely collosus name which Luger is not, but I guess Savage may be. I wouldnt see how the WWE would benefit if they brought in Luger, he doesnt do anything for me

if luger would come back, it would just be cool, maybe to manage or be an announcer or something

but Savage is like a wrestling icon like Hogan, Luger was an icon at wcw which is like the top clown at a circus

If Savage were to return, that would be interesting more than exciting for me. But Lex Luger, I just don't understand at all. At one time, he was a huge name, for both WCW and the WWF, but from where I'm sitting that megastardom has dimished considerably. Towards the end of WCW's life, Luger was not liked by fans, and I don't mean that he was simply an effective heel. People were growing tired of his habit of wheeling out the same match every week, and if he had a personality, he wasn't doing a great job of showing it.

Adding Luger to the WWE mix right now would be a mistake, in my view. I don't see him bringing any value to the product, he's not as big a name as he used to be, and worst of all, he could distract from other truly noteable signings like Goldberg. It's not that I've got anything against Lex Luger, I respect and appreciate everything he's done in pro wrestling, but I really don't think he is needed in WWE at this point in time.

The ONLY time Lex Luger held any interest for me, was during his "rookie" year in NWA/WCW. He came out and TOLD Ric Flair that he was going to be a horseman. Then, he became one. That was when the Horsemen were the shit in wrestling. After he left the Horsemen, he lost any appeal to me. During his days in WWF and later in WCW he just sucked. I know he was popular during his Lex Express run but he can not wrestle and has very little mic skills or personality. H e just sucks to me and I think it shows how desperate and out of touch Vince is with what fans want if he signs Luger and puts him in any high profile fued.

Don't kid yourself, people.  Vince McMahon knows what the fans want.  And he knows that by signing Lex Luger, he has a very good chance to give the fans EXACTLY what they want.

You see, you need to think like a wrestling promoter on this one folks.  You have to think outside the box, read between the lines.  NOTHING is black and white...everything is shades of gray when it comes to Vince McMahon.  Does Vince want to sign Lex Luger?  Sure.  Does Vince want to sign Lex Luger because Luger is a great wrestler with a great character that will generate a lot of fan interest in WWE?  Probably not.  Does Vince want to sign Lex Luger because of who Luger knows?  You bet your ass.

Any wrestling fan worth his salt knows who Lex Luger's best friend is.  And any wrestling fan worth his salt also knows that Vince McMahon has wanted to sign Lex Luger's best friend for years.  And any logical person can deduce that by signing Lex Luger, it may influence and may finally convince Lex Luger's best friend to sign with WWE.  You see, from where I sit, signing Lex Luger is a type of negotiation - for lack of a better term - ploy on Vince's part to sign the one WCW Superstar he was never able to sign.....Sting.

Luger is being used by WWE as bait.  Plain and simple.  Trust me, as I said before, Vince McMahon knows exactly what he is doing.

Oh and about Randy Savage signing with WWE, I got two words for yah........

OOOOOHHHHHH YEAAAHHHHH!!!!

That's a very good point, Savage - that didn't occur to me until now. :ponder:
