WX recruiting now...
« on: March 21, 2003, 06:21:10 AM »

When the WrestleXpress main site opens, I'll be needing lots of help from a variety of staff, some of whom will ideally be onboard well before the launch. Below is a list of jobs (unpaid but credited) that will be available - if you are interested in contributing in any of these capacities, please send me an email or private message for more details.

  • Results writers (one or more)
    [li]News reporters (many)
    [li]News admin/s (one or two)
    [li]Columnists (many)
[li]Quiz writer / Quotes writer (one)
    [li]Short-term researcher/s (one or two)
It may be possible, depending on the jobs, to undertake more than one at a time. You are the best judge of your own limitations, so if you feel you can commit to two jobs then by all means apply for them both.

WrestleXpress.net will not be just another wrestling website. Without being reckless, we will challenge the conventions of online wrestling news and entertainment, because the last thing the Web needs is another rehash of the same content. The WX standards will be famously high - and that is both a promise and a warning. If you join the staff of WrestleXpress.net, it must be because you want to make a difference, not just because you fancy seeing your name up in lights (well, neat pixels). You already get that by being a poster in the WX forums, which will also - I have no doubt - become one of the most respected discussion boards on the 'Net. Working for the main site will be a tough responsibility, but one that I am sure many of the people here could handle with enthusiasm and pride.

I look forward to hearing from you.

I would like to apply to be a news writer, and a newsboard administrator. Over the last 5-6 monthes, i've picked up alot of tips and knowledge on how to manage and post reports, what to do, and what not to do when it comes down to reporting wrestling news for websites. As you know i have my own website, where i post regular reports at, i also will be getting a few more jobs at other websites soon, to get my reports around more.

You can trust me, i will not take advantage of the authority, i will post regular news, and hire, and manage the boards in a professional mannor.

I'll leave it in your hands now Heady,

- Goldust

You want Entertainment here eh.  Well, I got a double edged sword for you.  How about I review video games and write a fantasy sports article.

I was a video game reviewer at 911wrestling before it went belly up.

Well your original message said to PM you, but i see others are just replying so i decided to go with the crowd for once. Yep, i'm playing follow the leader, hope i don't get lost  :grumble:

Anyways, i am interested in a columninst position, but i feel a need to discuss it with you first. The last person i went to for a columnist position on his site (before he sold it) said that he would only give me the position if i could guarantee that i'd piss off all readers of the column, thus killing my columinst career before it started

Thanks to everyone who has applied for positions on the main site, the response so far has been great. I've been dealing with people through PMs, which is why I haven't replied in this thread yet.

However, we are still short on staff. We desperately need results writers and news reporters, so if you're reading this and you can think of someone you know who would be interested in these jobs, please give them my email address: headliner@writtenoff.com

Thanks. :)

Could I apply to be a columnist on the new WX website? I think it would suit me perfectly.
