My opinion on this dying matter is this:

Shawn Screwed Bret, Earl screwed Bret, Vince Screwed Bret, and.......Bret screwed Bret. Let me explain.....

Shawn(even though my favorite wrestler) took a major roll in this screwjob. Shawn Michaels(No matter what anybody says) took part in this screwjob. He pretended he was pissed off at Vince because he knew he didn't want to get his ass kicked by Bret Hart. Shawn knew what he was doing, and he paid the consequences by getting the infamous " You screwed Bret" Chant whenever they go to canada. Mostly, Montreal though, just for the people that didn't know. Shawn screwed Bret. I rest my case.

Earl was Vince's puppet by doing what he told him to do, and ring the bell just to obivously screw Bret " The Hitman " Hart. Earl also took a major part in this screjob. Earl lied to Bret's face saying " I won't let anything happen out there." What a fuckin liar! The bitch just wanted to keep his job. What a fuckin Bitch!

Vince took the biggest part in this whole thing. He orchastrated the whole project of sorts. He got what he deserved when he got spit in the face, That was the sign that you lost your biggest fuckin star, and it is all your fault. I don't blame Bret one bit. I would of done the same fuckin thing.....

This is going to catch me a lot of shit from the Bret Hart marks, but i think Bret screwed Bret. Let me explain folks.......

He was going to WCW, and you really think Vince was going to let Bret go over a big star by the name of Shawn Michaels. I don't think so. I just think that Bret should of thought about it a lot more, and really understand that it would probably happen. After hearing the rumors it was going to happen, i would of said " Fuck this shit, and left the building." That is just me.

Bottom Line: Shawn, Earl, Vince are the biggest names to blame. Bret is just a little bit of the blame.

Bret: The best there was, The best there ever will be.
Vince:Evil, but smart, Businessman
Earl:Selfish Ref that is a coward
Shawn: An excellent athlete with a bad attitude.

Enough said.....

That is my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Don't get me started on this! lol!!!

On another forum of which many here will know about (A certain forum that could be found ringside...*wink**wink*) We had a big debate about it and I don't think anyone ever one....

But, here's my take on it, which, like yours, is completely rubbish because neither of us were there and neither of us have talked about it to any of the people involved and do not know what they were thinking etc....

Shawn: I believe that he, aswell as the rest of D-Generation X, didn't know it was gunna happen. The planned ending was Bret reversed the Sharpshooter Shawn had locked in and then Shawn tapped out, and you can see that just before the bell rang they did reverse it but it was too late.
And you can see some guy telling Shawn Michaels to hold the belt up and act happy before he went through the curtain and then Shawn jumped up a  bit and ACT like he won the match, which he hadn't done until then.

Earl: Lied to Bret's face. Shouldn't have. Could have done things diferently, and should have. Never Mind.

Vince: Had no other choice. Bret Harts last major match in the WWE, against one of the Top Stars, would give WCW a free ticket to rise above WWE in the ratings, lol. It would give them a chance to use the "We've got their best stuff etc..." bit.

Bret: I felt sorry for him, but think he was being selfish. And he shouldn't be upset about it because about half as many people would think of him as a legend if this hadn't happened.
