What Was That Ring For?

you know back in the day for wrestling when the winner of the main event of a PPV got carried out by a little ring

what was that all about and why dont they do it anymore

It was just a fun gimmick to liven up ring entrances, and make the wrestlers seem more important. They had a little trolley to escort wrestlers up and down the aisle, with red, white and blue ropes around it to make it look like a wrestling ring. I suspect that the reason they stopped using them was to concentrate on more individual, charismatic entrances, but then again it might have been that they couldn't afford them at the time. :ponder:
