YIM messes up my computer

Everytime i uses Yahoo Instant Messenger, my computer messes up. The icons in my taskbar go white, instead of what they are suppose to. Plus my computer runs slow and just weird acting. If i reboot, then everythin returns to normal until i get back on YIM.

Anyone know why this could be?

Make sure you're not using the XP or 2000 (they're both basically the same when it comes down to software) version first and formost. It could also be a runtime error (I'm not expecting you to know what that is) or a GUI bug (again, not expecting you to know what that is). If you're using the correct version then just reinstall it once just in case the first setup was corrupted.
