Rather than use some cool video packages or commercials, WWE has decided to promote the television arrival of Gail Kim another way - in print.
That's right. Before she has even debuted on WWE TV, Gail Kim is heavily featured in the May 2003 edition of RAW Magazine. She even has a pullout poster in the periodical. This is a tad odd, considering WWE usually hypes their new talent much differently. Still, this was a very cool choice. WWE fans now get to know Gail before they see her on TV. The interview with Gail is a little bit short, but you get to read just enough to find out who she is, where she is from, what she can do, and how well she can do it. Plus WWE employees, such as former Women's Champion Molly Holly and road agent John Laurinaitis, give their views on the high-flying diva.
All in all, a very interesting and effective way to hype a new piece of talent. I'd like to see WWE use this approach more often. Do you think it is effective? Would you like to see WWE use this approach to hyping new talent more often or not?
