Thanks for the feedback from those who replied. I've now made my decision and, as evidenced by the lack of recent updates, that decision is to drop the main site. From now on, the forums
are the main site, as perhaps they always should have been.
It's not a decision I've made lightly. I had high hopes for WrestleXpress.net and although it's only been a little over a month since launch, I've come to realize that those hopes placed too high a demand on my time. Furthermore, I hated being a news reporter even more than I expected I would. That's not a knock on the task itself, because I know some people get a lot of satisfaction out of it, but not me.
The best that the site could have accomplished was to become, with a bit of luck, another popular wrestling news site. But I don't see the point in doing something others are already doing, if you're not going to be the best at it. Especially if you don't enjoy it. So I've turned my attention to a new project, which will offer something original to the Internet wrestling fan. I'll save details on that for another time, except to specify that due to its nature, it cannot be directly related to these forums as WrestleXpress.net was.
This is not to say, however, that the WX Forums are not my number one priority, for they always have been and remain so. I want to take this time to thank everyone who has been committed to continually making these forums as good as they can be. I initially set this place up because we needed somewhere to go after leaving WrestlingMania, with the hope that it would be a group effort to make things work. Someone's name had to go on the dotted line, and it happened to be mine, but I've always considered this a shared venture among those of us who really believe in it. At this point, those who don't or have lost faith in WX can take a hike as far as I'm concerned - from now on, I for one will be catering for those who care about WX, and who genuinely want to be here and to help it succeed.
Meanwhile, I will continue writing my column for various sites around the Web, plugging these forums with every post. I will also continue poking my friendly nose into other forums, just to bring the WX link in my sig back into view. Hot Bot will continue to feud with Googlebot over the affections of ALICE, gradually boosting our presence in the major search engines. And SavageRulz will continue to spawn relatives who can register and post.
In short, the "main site" is dead, long live the main site - the WX Forums. And if you ain't down with that, I got two words for ya.....
SharpShooter.
