R.I.P. Internet
« on: January 23, 2012, 11:03:26 AM »

Megaupload, FileServe, Wupload, Filesonic, and others are all dead because they're pussies after Megaupload got busted.  If they start taking down porn then I'm just going to kill myself.  What's the point of the internet if there's no piracy or porn?

Just going by what I've read on another forum:

This is Kim Dotcom, owner of Megaupload:

And his humble abode:

Quote
Between his 18 luxury cars, Kim Dotcom has a 1959 pink Cadillac, 15 Mercedes-Benz vehicles, a Rolls-Royce, a Maserati and a rare Lamborghini. As for his license plates, Kim Dotcom was using “GOD”, “HACKER”, “POLICE”, STONED”, “GOOD”, “CEO” and “GUILTY”. Kim Schmitz now faces up to 55 years of prison if convicted and he is currently in custody until his hearing on January 23.

And apparently he was the #1 player in the world of Modern Warfare 3.

Still feeling bad about the bust? Myself, not so much...

A good listener tries to understand what the other person is saying. In the end he may disagree sharply, but because he disagrees, he wants to know exactly what it is he is disagreeing with.

Good point.  I edited my post to make it clear that these are porn sites, so no one accidentally goes there.

I know of them, I'm just concerned they'll be the next to die.  If they do then what else am I supposed to do on the internet?  Post on here?  HA!

If someone disagrees with you then what's the worst that can happen? In the immortal words of Mr T, get some nuts! You might even make them see it from an angle they hadn't considered. Go on Matches, do it for little Jimmy!

Say anything bad about the internet though and we'll run you off of this forum faster than a Megaupload Premium download*.

  • Imagine the ones who've just paid out for a premium account, and not even had the chance to start ripping off the entertainment industry with it. They're the real victims in all of this.

I had 3 months left on my FileServe account.  Pricks.  They didn't even get got, they're just pussys.

I did start buying legally as well but I'm too poor again at the moment.

Alright, I was just a little weary since this kind of topic had sparked flame wars at other places I frequent.

I had kicked the habit of using torrents and moved to using DDLs a few years ago, but with the recent upheaval of filehosters dying out, I might have to go back to one of the private trackers. At least until replacements pop up. Just when Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.

A DVR sounds good right about now.

I thought you were going to say you were happy they closed down and call us a bunch of thieving cunts after that first post.

I don't trust torrents now, well, except the wrestling ones.  The good private ones you usually need invites for and that sounds like too much effort, and ones like Demonoid are so popular now that they might as well be public.
