Royal Rumble 2012
« on: January 14, 2012, 05:13:12 PM »

The card for WrestleMania XXVIII begins to take shape this month. Okay, so we already know about Cena vs The Rock. But one half of one of the top title matches will, presumably, be locked in when somebody wins the Royal Rumble match which is now back down to 30 men.

Either CM Punk or Dolph Ziggler will emerge from the PPV as WWE Champion, though anything can still happen at the Elimination Chamber event in February.

Who do you want to win each match, and do you think there'll be any surprise entrants in the Rumble?

Apparently people who already have matches on the card will be in the rumble match so maybe Ziggler could be in it.  If he is then I hope he wins, I've only watched a few Raws lately but he's grown on me loads.  Vickie needs to fuckoff though, her act has gotten old now, they could have at least changed her role a little bit over the years but nope.  She holds him back.

Probably won't be a Diesel appearance this year and even if there is it won't be as good after he returned as Kevin Nash to zero reaction.  He's still the man though so if he shows up and Jacknifes some bitches I'll be happy.

I'll watch this one and then I might continue until Wrestlemania seeing as I'll obviously be watching that.  Might as well try and care about the under card matches.

So after SmackDown we now know the World Title will be defended in a triple threat cage match between Daniel Bryan, Mark Henry and the Big Show. That should be great. I can imagine the two big guys smashing each other through the cage wall, only for Bryan to be the first to slither out onto the floor and retain the title.

And I always feel good about the Rumble match itself. It's mine and Todd Pettengil's favorite match of the year, because regardless of the build-up you know it's going to have some entertaining moments. In another company's hands it would just be a rumble, but every year WWE knows how to add the royal touch. Something fun always happens to keep me interested in a match that consequently never feels an hour long.

I think it's shaping up to be a good show.

Shame I have to work on Sunday, and I doubt in my ability to refrain from reading the spoilers. :)

  • With the flop of ADR, I suspect the winner will be someone already establish.

  • I think Sheamus has a good shot at winning, and he'd count as a new face despite being a two-time WWE Champion. Randy Orton of course is coming back from injury to compete in his hometown, but that's almost too perfect so I think Wade Barrett will crash the fairytale.

So tonight, according to one Mr Jericho, the world as we know it is going to end.

What do you think he's alluding to?

The return of Chyna, as his tag team partner. Reunited at last.

Ah, it all makes sense now. That wall he's always wanted to break down has been the great wall of Chyna, the metaphorical one that exists between himself and his former Intercontinental co-Champion. Good shout, we should probably have used spoiler tags.

I think I might stay up and watch this, the Rumble was always my favourite event and I kinda miss wrestling.

A good listener tries to understand what the other person is saying. In the end he may disagree sharply, but because he disagrees, he wants to know exactly what it is he is disagreeing with.

Randy Orton's supposed to be white, right? Why does he have the same skin tone as The Rock?
