UFC 141: Lesnar vs. Overeem Results
« on: December 31, 2011, 09:29:27 AM »

Lesnar lost in the first round from shots to the body after Overeem was able to avoid his takedown.  After the fight Brock announced his retirement, after his serious surgery and the fact he has little kids it's not that surprising.  It's disappointing that people who hate him will say "I told you so" though, despite what they say he did something nobody else did and start his career by fighting and beating the best.

Just thought I'd make the inevitable thread about whether he'll go back to WWE or not.  He obviously won't go back full time because he hated the travelling but he's been mentioning Austin in a lot of his interviews when his book came out, plus he's in the video game.  I think it's a sure thing he'll show up and wrestle at Wrestlemania either this year or next year, if not a few matches throughout the year.

Maybe it will begin on January 2nd.

  • I don't think he's got anything to be ashamed of, he did very well and nobody's career in MMA lasts forever. He made his money, lots of it, and now he's getting out at the right time for him.

Here's to Brock vs Goldberg II at WrestleMania, with Sable on the undercard...

Brock Lesnar is what got me into MMA, sad to see him go out like this. If only Brock would have been able to stay healthy in his UFC career.

So if Brock does return to WWE, who do you want to see him face?

An Undertaker match was speculated after their little confrontation at a UFC event, but I'm not too bothered about seeing that, nor am I particularly interested in seeing him against Cena or Punk. And I don't think there's anything new to be gained from battles with Big Show and Henry.

The matches I'd quite like to see are Lesnar vs Orton and even Brock vs Batista (if and when Big Dave returns). Somehow I also see Wade Barrett getting a good feud out of the Vanilla Gorilla, leading the promos against a babyface Brock.
