Hangman's Neckbreaker
« on: July 25, 2010, 09:52:11 AM »

  • You'll find in the menu at the top of the page a new link to "Hangman" - check it out and see how you do.

It's pretty easy at the moment, we may have to cut the number of lives to make it more challenging.

I had a go yesterday and I only guessed one letter incorrectly, was pretty fun though.. looks like something I will play more than once.

A good listener tries to understand what the other person is saying. In the end he may disagree sharply, but because he disagrees, he wants to know exactly what it is he is disagreeing with.

  • I went through the whole thing with only one letter wrong... until I had two letters left. Then I had absolutely no idea what the last word was. I lost the game on two letters. After going through every letter I could, I eventually figured it out.

Probably would've gotten it if it hadn't been a word that never enters my mind or comes out of my mouth. :grumble:

So was it S and O, or A and P that had you stumped?

  • Are you Andy Kaufman and I'm from Memphis, Tennessee?

The one I did was about "eBay". Never used, don't personally know anyone that uses it, and I never will use it.

I just got the last one after only missing one letter:

  • They certainly vary in difficulty (or easiness, depending on how you look at it). In case it's not clear, the threads are chosen at random from everything in public folders, not a hand picked list. So you might get a title like that or one that just says "hi". Anything could come up.

What's the consensus on reducing the number of lives?

How could there possibly be more? Seemed like a standard Hangman format to me. Do you typically dress or accessorize the "man", too, or something? :-/

The reduction is a proposal, not something that's already been done. Do you think it's too easy right now, or should the number of lives be reduced?

  • I find it pretty simple. I use vowels and then guess then use wrestling related letters. I've not lost yet.

  • I'm not necessarily suggesting anything easier, but I will say that I've personally always played it so that the first mistake started at the head, then body, then one arm, etc. So...six possible errors then game over.

  • I'm going to purposely fail a game now so I can see what order the Hangman appears in this version.. do stats of our games get kept anywhere or is it just for fun? 'Cos I'd hate for a fail to show up on my history

Nothing's recorded, it's just something to do when you're bored.
