Hope everyone form the US had a great 4th.

There was no grand fireworks display for my town this year. Seems the firefighters in charge of it made it go boom yesterday (the 3rd) while setting it up, which caused a fire and destroyed $30,000 worth of fireworks. Yes, the 4th of July was more or less cancelled in my town. Meh. I never cared much for fireworks anyway.

I find it funny how the firefighters doing the official town display each year always manage to screw it up somehow and always seem to set a fire (except 2008, for both). They set more fires than nature and citizens combined. I think our fire department is run by a modern incarnation of the Three Stooges or Keystone Kops.
