As I have mentioned already in this thread, I've been drinking wine when I do drink. I am actually growing quite fond of red wine, which like beer, I agree that it's an acquired taste.

I use to hate it, and now I find myself having just a small glass a couple of times a week because I enjoy the taste. I plan on getting more of a red wine called Jonsey that is only sold locally when I go to Southern Indiana this weekend to visit my sister.

Good stuff.

Yesterday night I got trashed. I drank 6 rum and coke, 2 shots of Jeger in about an hour and thirty minutes. So needless to say I don't remember much of the night. However apparently I was hilarious.

  • I haven't drank in such a long time.

My health kick really doesn't allow for much drinking, but I still would :Dn't turn down a nice glass of wine if it were offered.

I don't usually drink heavily but I wanted to cut loose a bit that night. The downside is that I'm not 5 years younger and could shake it off. Those days are gone, so in some ways I now know my limitation and will not repeat the mistake.

If any of you guys here like rum, you should definitely give this 63%er a whirl: Wray & Nephews. Me and a friend ordered it in a bar last night and the bar-staff just all looked at us as if we were mad. It smells a lot stronger than it tastes though and it was quite pleasant.

    :yummy:

Well, I only drink drinks that I actually like the taste off so that rules out beer and straight vodka. I enjoy drinking cider and will drink vodka mixers and sambuka shots in bars/clubs. I should really start experimenting with drinks instead of sticking to well known popular drinks!

Over the past few years i've been a big drinker. I started casually drinking at the age of 14/15 with friends, which progressed in to my first night club and bar experiences in college at the age of 16. Back in those days (damn, I sound old and grey like Scoop Heady!) fake ID's actually worked, I remember my ID said I was like 23 or something ridiculous and it always worked! Then the UK government hit under age drinking hard just in time for my 18th birthday, so it didn't really impact me.

At Uni in my first two years I would go out and get drunk regularly (and this I class memory loss) 3 nights a week, and sometimes 4. In my third year I worked for a company in London so didn't think I would drink much, boy was I wrong. A couple 'after work beers' regularly turned into heading home for an alcohol fuelled shower (yes, drinking a can whilst showering) and a change of clothes which then progressed into a night out in Central London until the early hours and then thinking crap... I have to be at work in 2 hours.

My final year at Uni I was determined not to drink much and study hard... and again, I found myself going out 2-3 nights a week again getting drunk.

To summarise, I enjoy alcohol and have really put a lot away in the past few years... i've surprised myself at how i've managed to drink and party so much and graduate with the mark I received whilst securing a graduate job at a company I really want to work for. Over the past couple months i've really started to feel my age and am not really interested in the 'club scene' too much anymore. I'd much rather go to a bar or a pub for conversation and drinks, as to a dark loud club. I guess i'm starting to grow up *sigh*

I've not had a night out in 4 weeks now since my final night in New York, probably my longest stint in a long time, and i'm not overly bothered! Since then i've enjoyed a couple bottles of Magners here and there but thats about it :)

    Drink responsibly!!
