Alcohol
« on: April 06, 2010, 02:45:07 PM »

I'm just curious to be honest, who here actually drinks alcohol and on waht kind of regularity? From what I gather not many of you are big drinkers, I think maybe one or two like a tipple.. some of you I don't think ahve ever even tried it. But I'm just interested to see..

I go to a pub quiz with people from work and have a few drinks every Thursday.. and then I will go out maybe once in a week to socialise and have a drink in town, at clubs/bars etc. To me that wouldn't be a lot at all compared to the amount I used to drink, but I imagine some of you wouldn't dream of drinking even this much?

A good listener tries to understand what the other person is saying. In the end he may disagree sharply, but because he disagrees, he wants to know exactly what it is he is disagreeing with.

I barely touch the stuff. I'll sometimes drink a little to be sociable, but I'm just as happy, or happier, with a Coke. I'm a bit of a control freak when it comes to my own mind and body, so "under the influence" isn't a state that I aspire to.

I drink regularly at Uni, not so much lately though. I rarely go more than 2 weeks without having a drink. I find it very satisfying to have a cider after a full day in the library or at work, and at the same time love going out to clubs and bars. I much prefer bars these days with my friends or the guys from football. We usually go to a few bars and then on to a club, but lately we've been cutting out the club. I'm sure when I finish my studies this Summer and begin working full time in September i'll drink less regularly and go out on Saturday nights only.

I wish I had more self control over myself as I do have a couple drinks, which turns to more and maybe sometimes more ;) However, when I am drunk I can stop myself drinking more, so I have good self control at that point, where as a few of my mates will continue drinking if they have money in their pockets... where as I prefer to save my money for a slice of pizza afterwards ;)

I've met a lot of people from drinking alcohol and socialising at bars. I recognise you don't need to drink alcohol to socialise and meet people in bars, however i'm a little more confident when drunk and more likely to chat away and socialise more than greeting someone or just saying a couple sentences to someone.

Typically at Uni, when work allows, i'll drink alcohol 2 or 3 nights a week.

I don't drink, never have except one sip when i was like 4 years old of my Dad's pint (was disgusting) - I kinda sorta want to though.

I mean, alcohol is a drug, and I hate drunk people, and bla bla bla. But I'd like to try it just once to see what its like, see what happens, and I guess because society makes me feel like a freak for NOT drinking.

I use to be a very heavy drinker but I have slowed down a little I normally drink like 3 times a week maybe. I am not much of a bar person I tend to have people over for whatever reason and we will drink.

I love Four Lokos they are like 11% or something but 2 of them normally will get you a nice buzz going on. I am more of a liquor person honestly.

Dr. Mcgillicuddy Vanilla with Orange crush taste just like a dreamsicle and you can add a splash of cream to really add that extra bit to it. If its too sweet with crush just use some pulp free OJ and its amazing.

I do drink some beers like Miller Light is not too bad or High Life

i used to take a sip of beer from relatives when i was lets say 13, then when we went to a camp, they made me drink light beer, and i cant take the light beer in me, most of the times i puke it out, so thats why i abstain myself from alcohol, and its been a great 3 yrs of sober life

I don't drink. I have tried it but, for the most part, hated it. Nothing tasted good with the exception of a Tom Collins.

I'm a social drinker if I'm @ a club or a wedding I'll  grab one or two mixed drinks but that's about it.If I'm on a staycation and my family starts getting on my nerves I'll grab one of my bros Coronas.I hardly ever drink more than one though I'm a light weight and I start to buzz very fast.

Rum and Coke.
Vodka and cranberry.
Tequila on the rocks.
Whisky straight.

Though usually only at bars or parties. I do not have any alcohol in my place.

I have a bar in my living room.

It's stocked and I drink to the point of being pretty drunk about once a month. During the winter I drink more, during the warmer months I drink less. It's really just a matter of what my friends feel like doing and how we choose to entertain ourselves at the time.

This weekend we're having a wine drinking party, cuz that shit is classy. Other than that, I'll be the first to admit that I dabble with recreational drugs as well. I never really talk about it here because no one seems that interested, but I love psychedelics and feel like I've learned a lot about myself through my experiences.

I know, right? I'm awful.

But since I'm on this health kick, no beer or any hard liquors. Red wine is about the only thing alcohol wise I am going to let myself have right about now.

I also have a bar in my living room.  I enjoy beer and some other drinks.  I do not drink as hard as I did when I was in Uni though

It used to be that I went out to get drunk, have a dance, get into a girl or two and have a good time, now-a-days I like to have a few pints of cider in the pub, get a nice buzz going on and then just head home and sleep it off.

We're only talking like 4 years between each here, but if this trend carries on I'll be booze free by the time I'm 26 I reckon.

I had my family over tonight for a late Easter celebration/surprise birthday party for my grandpa and my cousin brought some wine over. I had a couple of glasses and got a pretty good buzz going. Then everyone headed home and I was just drunk sitting at home alone, which sucked, so I took a bath to try and sober up. I hate this half sober half drunk feeling, so I'm just waiting for it to pass.
