Well, damn. The new theme song is about ten times worse than the last one. Congrats on defying the odds there, TNA.
The Sting turn shocked me. Longtime wrestling fans are conditioned to second-guess, so it crossed my mind, but I quickly convinced myself that it wouldn't happen. And then it did, and I was blown away.
The X Division segment setting up the triple threat lost that momentum. Putting myself in the shoes of a casual fan flipping between Impact and RAW, I saw no reason to stay glued to Spike TV when Kaz and pals were on the mic. Fortunately the wrestling was the exciting style that you rarely see in WWE, but was it too late to hold viewers for that part of the show? Very nice finish though.
Then, they drop the ball by trying to get us to buy into Shannon Moore as a big name for a surprise PPV match up.
True dat.
The Knockouts division is looking up with the Beautiful People as tag champs. A stable of heels cheating their way through title defences is often a formula for good TV, and this match built heat around the singles title as well.
Good teaser by Taz for Sting's opponent. And as he later put it, "an awesome, awesome debut for RVD." Great stuff for Rob and for Sting's character development.
i dont get why people was enjoying rvd's return, he beat sting in under 30 seconds, making sting looks like a pussy
He caught Sting completely off-guard with that kick off the top rope and never gave him a chance to get it together. I don't think Sting looked like a pussy, he was basically sucker punched in an extravagant way. No one believes it would end that quickly if they started out on an even footing.
So that tag match against The Band will take place at Designation X, according to Nash. I loved the explosive match against Syxx-Pac from Eric Young, the best I've ever seen him, brief though it was.
The Angle/Anderson segment was great once they were both involved. It was an entertaining spectacle that I expect will have maintained viewers.
If Beer Money's turning heel then I'm glad. They were one of the most popular acts on the house show I went to in January, but I've always felt they both worked better as heels.
The Impact Zone sure hates Brooke.

And after that backstage scene I could sure understand why.
I really enjoyed the main event. It was as good as you could expect it to be, and was hyped well throughout the night. The arrival of Jeff Hardy had been spoiled for me, but for the sake of the show was a nice final surprise to close out on. Shame Spike couldn't wait a few more seconds for the Swanton Bomb before fading out.
Overall it was a strong start for TNA's live Monday night campaign and I'm looking forward to next week. The most intriguing angle coming out of the show is Sting's turn, not just on Hogan but in his methods towards RVD - what will his explanation be?
