The IT Crowd Season 1 - Fucking amazing show and hilarious. I am so thankfully I have netflix instant watch or I would never of seen this show.

Is that the British show or is there an American version? I've seen it here in the UK and it is one of the few funny sitcoms we've produced in a while. The DVD has some great little Mortal Kombat-style parodies of each episode.
Its the UK show lol I would not dare watch the US version I am sure we would fuck it up. I am pretty shocked that no channel in the US has picked up the to run it I am sure the UK version would be pretty successful. I just started season 2 and plan to get through that this weekend.

How come US always remakes UK shows instead of just airing them?  We air their shows and they more popular than ours outside of stuff like Eastenders.

Because the US has a complex we feel we can do anything better! lol Also i think we remake it so we can cast actors that are popular here in hopes that will drive the show. I personally wish we would leave the shows alone the only way a show should get a remake is if its a Subbed show.

I've watched a few shows from the UK...but they are always on BBC America. The ones I liked always got canceled after 2 or 3 season though.

I think you may have answered your own question, Illy. If American shows are more popular in Britain than our own products, then why would TV networks in the States buy British shows that are seen as inferior in their own country?

Let's face it, foreign programming would be a hard enough sell on the American public even if it was seen as the best thing to ever happen to television in its home land. Without that native support it's an even bigger gamble for the execs at ABC, Comedy Central, etc.

I'm curious as to which shows these are? For example the UK Office was planned to only have 2 series, as Ricky Gervais didn't want to over do it with the characters, and make everyone get tired of it.. as in the Little Britain style comedies.

A good listener tries to understand what the other person is saying. In the end he may disagree sharply, but because he disagrees, he wants to know exactly what it is he is disagreeing with.

I don't like the Office, UK or USA versions. I'm mainly into the geeky sci-fi and fantasy stuff like Hex or Robin Hood. Both of which got canceled.

I like Sci-fi stuff too, but it always gets canceled. I was digging Defying Gravity. I also like Flash Forward, hopefully that won't be canceled.

Robin Hood got cancelled? Damn, I was hoping to get into that some day after catching one random episode. Did it get a proper ending or was it abrupt and unsatisfying?

Anyway, been finishing up the second season of Breaking Bad. Such a good show. It's hard to believe that this is the same guy that played Hal on Malcolm in the Middle.

@Purps I never watched Hex but almost did as it was advertised in a DVD season i bought. I am always hesitant to get into ant ANY sci fi show now as it seems most are canceled in a season or two. I own SO many dvd sets of shows that were amazing sci fi shows but never give the right chance to get a fan base.

Threshold
Invasion
Point Pleasant
Surface
Jeremiah
Firefly
Jericho

That's just a few its hard to wanna watch the next one until you are sure its not gunna be ended without the proper ending
