Check out this amazing fan-made remix of Sonic 2. Watch out for the cheeky Sonic Adventure reference...

You can download a playable demo here. I haven't got stuck in yet, but on looks alone it's pretty incredible. If Sega had commissioned full remakes of all the original 2D games, they might have realized exactly what was needed from Sonic 4.

  • I've just downloaded this on my iPhone 4 and it's really hard getting used to the controls with a touch screen, while the game itself seems pretty decent for 69p, I am getting more pissed off than I need to be just because the touch screen controls are awful.. either that or I have a fat thumb.

All touchscreen controls are awful for this kind of game, yet developers keep trying to shoehorn them in. Sonic is totally unsuitable for phones, as are most types of game that were designed around a more traditional controller. I don't know what Rockstar were thinking when they marked GTA III's tenth anniversary by re-releasing it on touchscreen devices. Madness.

I've gotta say I'm starting to get the hang of the controls a lot better now although the game can be so infuriating at times as well when it does the exact opposite of what you tell it to. Another thing that's annoying me as well is when you have headphones plugged in, it makes it difficult to hold the iPhone in the same position... And I have yet to discover an option to flip the display within the game.. Grr!

  • It looks like Tails and Metal Sonic are returning for Episode II:

I wonder if Knuckles will appear in Episode III, and Amy Rose in Episode... CD?
