Suggestion
« on: July 19, 2009, 04:54:39 PM »

OK, so on another forum I post at they have a feature where if you've posted in a thread previously, there is a little icon that shows up next to the thread title in the folder. I like this because it's a lot easier for me to remember where I've posted, so I can check for any replys.. and it helps me to avoid threads that didn't interest me. I'm not sure if it's possible with the forum software we have, as the other board is of a different type I believe.. but it was just a thought.

Just an idea.

There's an SMF mod for this, so I'll try to install it tomorrow. If that doesn't work, I might be able to code something from scratch, if it's a popular request, although the version I'd write could increase load times.

Nice work my good man.. I take it that you installed the already created mod?

By the way, if ever anyone is only interested in new replies to threads they've posted in, this page lists them. The link is in the expanding/retracting box at the top of every page (where you choose your color scheme, etc).

One more thing on this, which I completely forgot about when this thread was started. On the far left beside each thread title in a folder, the icon there already indicates whether you've posted in that thread - if so, there'll be a smiley face against the sheet(s) of paper.

Knowing this, is it still important to have the new symbols on the right, or are they now surplus to requirements? If there's no benefit, then I won't make the effort to keep them during the forum upgrade this weekend. If you think they're still necessary however, it won't be much hassle.

Ahh so there is. Well it's really up to you then.. I prefer how the right side icons stand out more, but the smiley face serves the same purpose.. so yeah, your choice.
