Monday Night Raw 29 June 2009
« on: June 29, 2009, 02:01:45 PM »

One day removed from WWE's The Bash, was "The Viper" Randy Orton able to out-smart the "Cerebral Assassin" Triple H? Or was "The Game" too much for the WWE Champion to handle?  Was "The Legacy" able to defeat the Colon brothers to win the WWE Unified Tag Team Championships?  Or were the Puerto Rican brothers too much for DiBiase and Rhodes to handle?  Did The Miz proove that he is awesome? Or did Cena finally shut him up?  Find out the answers to all of these questions and more tonight LIVE on WWE Monday Night Raw from San Jose, California.

I don't get WWE's new approach to RAW previews where they assume people didn't order the PPV. And not only that, but aren't they posted on WWE.com? Where all the results are right in front of you when you go on the page?

Apparently WWE's taping 2 weeks of Raw tonight, because they're heading overseas.

I seems that Smackdown's doing to be doing 2 tapings in 2 days, from what it seems on the live events thingy for the states on wwe.com. Because they'll be in Japan by the time it comes to tape SD next Tuesday. And Raw will be in Australia.

Well.. I like the "guest host" idea, at least for the moment..I figured they wouldn't announce next week's in order to keep us nosey folks tuning in just to see who it is but still...

I have come to one conclusion about Miz.. he's way more interesting when he doesn't open his mouth and just wrestles.. ;)

It was an okay show, but not up to last week's standard. Perhaps if I hadn't been ready to fall asleep before watching it, I might've felt differently.

The tag title match was decent enough, though not what either team is really capable of. I'd assume they'll cross paths again however, unless the Colons are heading for a split (which would be a mistake, in my opinion).

I forgot to comment in the Bash thread just how good the hype video for Cena/Miz was, so I'm glad they played it again on RAW to remind me. Well put together, even if it did include a sly plug for Cena's favorite razor (and sponsor of The Bash, by golly).

I was surprised, and a little disappointed (in the short term) to see all three of Orton's opponents being from ECW. Just for some novelty and variety I was hoping for some SmackDown exports in the mix, but I imagine the other two additions will be from Friday nights. Very odd seeing Mark Henry as a face after this long. Nitpicking time: I felt his little promo would have gained a bigger pop if he'd kept it more succinct - there were too many unnecessary words in there, reducing its impact.

Without reading any spoilers, I'm guessing that one of the stars RAW lost in the trade was Santino. He's the only person I could think of who was conspicuous by his absence.

Great teaser by Vince regarding ticket refunds. :snicker:
