The Bash 2009
« on: June 24, 2009, 05:14:34 AM »

The card announced so far:

Quote from: WWE.com
World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk vs. Jeff Hardy
WWE Champion Randy Orton vs. Triple H
ECW Championship Scramble Match
Women's Champion Melina vs. Michelle McCool
Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho vs. Rey Mysterio
John Cena vs. The Miz
Unified Tag Team Champions Carlito & Primo vs. Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase

Of course the Intercontinental Title match will be Title vs Mask, and the WWE Title match will be 3 Stages of Hell.

Here's where I find the latter stipulation stupid. On RAW this week, Vince made a point of saying that the second fall, to take place under Falls Count Anywhere rules, could end up anywhere - his examples were the parking lot or even the state line. Okay, so imagine that happens - Triple H and Orton find themselves miles from the arena, as per the rules, when the second fall takes place. Now the next fall is a stretcher match, which can only end when someone is pushed across a line drawn at the top of the ramp. In the arena.

Yeah, I was dissapointed by the third stip. I'm thinking it would be almost the perfect oppurtunity to do Hell in a Cell, finally put an end to the feud. But I guess now they're going with an all-HIAC ppv, I guess they don't want it to be overkill. God help us if WWE put on a match that makes sense.

Stretcher match is just bullshit.

Rest of the card looks awesome though.

Sad thing is that Triple H/Orton won't end at The Bash.  It'll end up going to Hell in a Cell guaranteed.  Everything else looks great.  Hopefully The Colons won't just be a tool to give the belts to Legacy so they have all the gold and they'll prove to be some kind of competition.  Miz/Cena is interesting and should be fun to watch.

They were really putting over the fact that you leave on a stretcher, so they might go the route of someone not physically being able to go on.

Isn't it obvious? Vince will follow the fight , driving the ambulance... duh.... I don't look for it to any further than a parking lot.. perhaps a Denny's parking lot down the street but still.. not too far...

It will MAYBE leave the crowd area for like, 2 minutes, before they loop round and end up coming out in the crowd somewhere. That's what always happens.

Whose to say it won't end in 2 matches? Maybe we won't see a stretcher match? That way it CAN end at the 'state line' and we'll be ok =]

I wouldn't be opposed to see Randy win in 2 matches...

It's actually looking like a good show to me at the moment. Most of those matches should be decent, or at least have some point of interest to them. All I could really do without is a match involving Michelle McCool, and I hope Orton and Triple H deliver one of their better performances like they did on RAW.

Fortunately it's on Sky Sports for UK viewers, rather than Box Office. On a side note, any Brits watching or recording tonight should also check out Vintage Collection on Sky Sports Xtra (11pm), if you're interested in a Flair/Michaels match from the Rockers days.

I'm not going to buy this ppv for one reason. If Cena beats the Miz I'll be so pissed I spent $50 on the PPV I'll blow up Titan Tower...and no one wants that. If Miz wins, I'll probably get the replay or the DVD. I just can't take the good chance that Cena will crush any momentum that the Miz has going for him.

I am expecting The Miz to lose, but I don't think he has to win to gain anything from this feud. His stock has risen over the past few weeks, and if anything, I think a win over Cena on PPV would be turning that momentum into something ridiculous - too much too soon. I certainly hope it's not a flat-out squash, as that could indeed put him back to square one or worse. But it doesn't have to be that way for Cena to still win.

I don't expect him to win clean. I expect outside interference or just cheating. But, any win would further his momentum. He needs that more than Cena needs another PPV win.
