So, it's christmas time. you're just waking up in the morning and you head into the living room with everyone gathered around the tree awaiting your arrival. You're excited as hell to see what wonderous presents you've recieved. The first present you open, is welcomed.. a nice big tin of sweets. The second present is even more welcomed, you finally have that Disney movie you've always wanted.. then comes the Hip-Grandma present, you open it up expected something really cool.. like a new Sega Mega Drive.. and instead you're graced with Aldi's Selga Master Station.. your Christmas spirit instantly dies inside you.
Yes, I'm talking about those presents that you receive from people who really do think you will love them, and it's just aboslutely horrifying when you have to pretend that you love it when you really don't. What kind of gifts have you received like this?
The only major one I can think of right now is a CD lens cleaner, that was clearly from a pound shop or somewhere equally as cheap.. =/
I do remember an incident when I was quite young when I received Buckaroo and I really did love it, but I was way too enthuisiastic about it and everyone thought I was taking the piss.. when I really was happy. I think that memory has put a bad stain on the whole experience of receiving presents. I always get nervous whenever it's time to open them up now in case I have to fake my interest and I just fail miserably.
