  • I have heard mixed reviews of The Road. Was kind of wondering if I should give it a watch. I heard someone say it was like The Road Warrior without all of the action and cool stuff.

I love apocalyptic movies, gunna watch The Road in a bit. I can't remember if I've seen it before, I thought I'd already watched every apocalyptic movie there was but don't remember seeing this one. Haven't seen the Book of Eli either cause didn't know that was apocalyptic.

  • The Road

It was pretty good. Kinda bleak, and hard to watch just cause it was kind of relentless, there wasn't any hope in the film, which I think made the darker moments less dark because there was no real contrast. It was just never ending grey.

I would have liked to have seen more of when the event happened, whatever it was that caused it. Seen the reactions etc. The most we got, I think, was he looked out the window and then ran a bath. I'm not sure if that was actually when the thing happened, like he looked out the window and maybe saw a nuclear bomb go off or something and maybe you should be under water when there a nuclear bomb...iunno. That might have just been a random flashback from after it had already happened and he was drawing the bath for some other reason.

I thought it was a decent film though.

  • If you're trying to watch every apocalyptic-ish movie, get hold of When The Wind Blows. It's by Raymond Briggs, the guy who wrote The Snowman, but quite different obviously. Rather touching film.

  • I watched Get Him TO The Greek today was was amazingly funny, pretty much like The Hangover but with Russel Brand in it.

And then I tortured myself for 2 hours watching the Eclipse staff showing.. I only went so my friend could come as my guest and watch it. It's the most boring thing ever.. nothing happens. There's is one fight that for about 30 seconds is cool to watch and then that ends and it's back to boring. Do NOT watch it.

A good listener tries to understand what the other person is saying. In the end he may disagree sharply, but because he disagrees, he wants to know exactly what it is he is disagreeing with.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine a few days ago...on the internet. :shifty:

It took me over a year to see it and, while I don't think it was nearly as bad as people say it was, it could have been better. Such as shame about Deadpool. After Wolverine he was easily my favorite character. I want to see a Deadpool movie with Ryan Reynolds as the lead asap.

You're in luck! If you just close your eyes and replace dead pool with a guy with a cool Green Lantern Ring, well you may very well be in for a treat.

  • Inception - It was literally mind blowing, a little like the Matrix but better because it was slightly more believable. WATCH IT!

  • Cannibal Holocaust.

At one point in time I might have found the movie entertaining if a little boring, but I must have lost a good chunk of my apathetic misanthropy over the years because I did not enjoy this movie. While I know it's not, it feels very real at times and is not very enjoyable.

I liken it to a movie like Rambo where the violence just looks and feels so authentic that rather than feel any sense of morbid entertainment, I just feel dirty.  Its death not sterilized by Hollywood. It may just be pretend but it's the only way it could be more real is for it to cross over and be real.

Crank 2, and it may be one of the greatest movies I have ever seen.

  • Clash of the Titans...new version. Thought it was great. I'm a fan of mythology so I may be biased towards the story.

No comparison, new one is better. Of course there is no Harry Hamlin, but what can you do? There is a nod to the old version but I don't want to spoil the moment.

  • Shutter Island

It was definitely bomb-ass. Was awesome. By the end you're not sure exactly what happened, it leaves it open to you to think about what happened. And in a good way, not in like a LOST way where you're just like "what happened then..." because it was really confusing and drawn out. Clever editing too.
