To much to dream
« on: April 14, 2003, 05:33:17 PM »

Bright lights
Big stars
Big dreams

This town
Ain't what it seems
Where was I going when I left you
What did I think I was gonna do

I had too much to dream last night
Hey now do you know what I mean
It's all different in the daylight
Just had a little too much to dream

Too high
Too fast
Too far

No one
Can catch a falling star

Where was I going when I left you
What did I think I was gonna do

I had too much to dream last night
Hey now do you know what I mean
It's all different in the daylight
Just had a little too much to dream

Had a little too much to dream

Dallas, step away from the lyric sites. You have an addiction and you need to find help A.S.A.P. I mean, most of your posts have involved lyrics. Usually they are the only real thing in the post.

It's not healthy for you. ;)  :p

i WISH i could write something like that. So much is being said in so few words. I tend to just babble away when i post, often repeating myself in the process

Once i reveal where i got those lyrics at, i am sure others would laugh at me. But seeing as how i am the type that doesn't give a shit about how others perceive me (or so i tell myself), i'll let it out anyways.

A few years ago, right after the Saved by the Bell phenomena ended, alot of spin off type shows came out, such as hang time, one world, city guys and others. All of these shows were essentially the same, and all were created by the same guy that created Saved by the Bell. Almost all of them were written off and never really made it far, except City Guys which is a show i like, but that is another thread.

But one of these shows that did make it to a certain level of success that was a spin off was a show called "California Dreams". The show is about a bunch of friends in California that create a band called "California dreams". It has the teenie messages that SBTB had such as drinking and driving, romance, and all the others.

But what sets this show apart is that the band actually sings their own songs. They don't lip synch the songs, but instead they actually sit down and record them and then lip synch them in the episode. Now i'll admit that most of these songs are not really songs that people would listen to and enjoy outside of the show. However, once in a while, this group actually sings a few songs that i like.

"To Much To Dream" was one of these songs. I know it is not the cool thing to do, but i like the song. I even downloaded it off of Kazaa, along with about 4 other of their better songs. If you like the lyrics that i posted above, then I'd recommend that you atleast give the song a listen. It might just be a personal preference of mine, but i say it is well worth it! All things considered, it is a great song.

While i am recommending songs by this TV Sitcom band, i guess i'll kill 2 birds with one stone and tell you a few other songs that are good to listen too. Here are my top 3 Cali. Dream songs:

1. Too Much To Dream
2. What Would I Do (without you)
3. She's Not You

Now since i have already given the lyrics to "Too much to Dream" i might as well give the lyrics for the other two on the list. Kraul STOP READING HERE! Maybe it's just because i am a sticom junkie or something, but i really like these songs:

What Would I Do (Without You -This is a "love" song type
(Candy and flowers)
For my Valentine
   (Minutes and hours)
You stay on my mind
   (Romance and love songs)
I'm down on my knees
   (Promise me you'll belong)
Oh to only me

But that's just a start
What I'm trying to say
I'd give you my heart
But it's yours anyway

CHORUS:
What would I do without you
To me you're the meaning of
The meaning of love
And I'll always be true
Forever with you
It just isn't long enough
What would I do

Without

Your kisses and your tender touch
I love you I love you I love you so much
Baby there's something I want you to know
I'm gonna die if you ever go

(guitar solo)

CHORUS(2x)

Without you

She's Not You
She's got everything
And in all the right places you know
She looks almost perfect
They love her wherever she goes

They say I'm so lucky
But that's not true
Now I know
What it feels like to lose

I have had the real thing
And girl this is only an act
And I can't deny the fact that baby

CHORUS:
She's not you
Big brown eyes
Long blonde hair
Just reminds me you're not there
She's not you
I hear her voice
Call my name
I know she'll never be the same as you

She's
Not
You

(guitar solo)

They say I'm so lucky
But that's not true
Cause now I know
What it feels like to lose

I have had the real thing
And girl this is only an act
And I can't deny the fact that baby

CHORUS

She's
Not
You

California Dreams! I loved that show! And I remember exactly how She's Not You goes, and dammit, just like all those years ago, I'm not gonna be able to get it out of my head for weeks now...

It had never occurred to me to look for those songs on Kazaa. Why, if I were to ever partake in such unethical acquisition of copyrighted material, then I would without doubt make a mental note to search for California Dreams tunes next time I had the chance. ;)

Tell me, is it the guitar notes that gets stuck in your head or is it the way jake sings it that stays up there longest?

It's the song that gets stuck in my head, not the guitar notes specifically. Although you have to admit, for California Dreams, that song is pretty heavy!
