One of these days, some of you who've been around long enough will remember the significance of this date.

On January 31st, 2003, Kurt Angle was WWE Champion after beating The Big Show. Triple H was World Heavyweight Champion after beating Shawn Michaels. Jeff Jarrett was the third NWA World Heavyweight Champion in TNA history. And on that day, these forums were officially launched.
The only way to mark this anniversary was in our own particular, self defeating style - by making the forums look fucked up beyond repair. "Error 666" was a somewhat cryptic reference to the passing of our sixth year (if you've yet to do the math). It first appeared randomly in place of the logo, then surfaced in an anonymous PM sent to the members who joined this board at the very beginning. The title of that message: Saturday.
Today. These supposedly mysterious errors slipped by without comment at first, maybe reflecting a low expectation from people of this site's stability...

...but we got your attention when
profile data began disappearing from view, with those original members all becoming "666'd" themselves. Admins included.
At last, the cerebral cogs began turning and the connection was spotted between the afflicted posters, but no understanding yet of what was going on or why. Hackers, maybe?
The final touch on this infiltration of errors, hopefully proving beyond any lingering doubt that this was no accident, was replacing the gallery preview images along the top of the board with three big sixes, hard coded into the page to prevent them being bumped by new uploads (not that anyone tried). Incidentally, the source URL of these numbers was a Photobucket account named "saturday666".
Over the last few months, we as a forum have experimented openly with the concept of "Cydentity" - our ability to recognize fellow posters without names, sigs or avatars - and the calculated "victimizing" of members over the course of Halloween. Consider the past few days a combination of the two, just to celebrate the fact that for six years, we've shared the kind of messageboard where stupid shit like this can happen and no one bats an eye.
