You're a big jerk Heady. *sticks tongue out* I dunno why you can't give Eoghan a little credit. He didn't have the vocals of Aston or Alexandre, but he could still sing. He didn't stand out in Boyzone, and judging from the fact we've never heard the bug-eyed one from JLS sing solo, he can probably sing better or as good as most of JLS. I think you've gone a bit overboard with your hate, like you did last year with Leon.
The point you're missing is that I do give Eoghan credit for being good enough to reach the final 12. I've got no problem with him reaching the live shows, he's not a bad singer. But he just did not deserve to survive as long as he did, outlasting far, far better competition. As I said, he's a nice guy, but that kind of injustice will always draw resentment after a while. The same happens in wrestling. It's nothing personal, and it doesn't mean he's actually shit. It just raises the hackles to the point where comparison with the more worthy acts will be harsh.
Edit:Since you've brought up Leon, my frustration last year was that he didn't win by being the best. Simple as that. People who voted for him were either tweenage girls who thought he was cute, people sympathetic of his sob story ("aww, the wee pet's doin' it fer his ma"), or Scottish viewers with a persecution complex, sucked in by the patriotic angle that was pushed so hard on the show. That's what I hated, not him as a person.
If you really want to tell me Leon's supporters believed in his musical ability, then explain to me these album sales:
Leon Jackson (released October 20 2008): 65,000 UK sales
Rhydian (released November 24 2008): over 156,000 UK sales
Where are all those admirers of his vocal talents rushing out to buy his CD? He's even had a single out to promote it, unlike Rhydian, and had over a month's head start.
But Rhydian didn't have the boyish charm, an embarrassingly limp sob story, or the backing of a nation (quite so) hell-bent on "sticking it to the English." All he had were people who liked his voice, and fortunately for him, they're the ones who stuck around after the show went off the air.
