Leona Lewis made a guest appearance on this week's X Factor, singing her excellent new cover of Snow Patrol's "Run." It gets pretty damn haunting towards the end...

What does anyone think of the contestants this year?

I like Alexandra and JLS. Ruth is pretty good too, and has a nice pair. Diana is decent, and the little Irish kid is annoying. Rachel is going next week though.

I want Diana or Eoghan to win. Alexandra got a good voice, but I don't think its as good as Leonas, or anywhere near, so be pointless for her to win really. If they're gunna make her do big ballads at least. I like Rachel too, when she singing songs that suit her, but she won't win. JLS I liked in the auditions but not so much now, they need to sing songs that suit them, not the Beatles. Ruth got a good voice but won't win it.

This has prolly been best year of X Factor, other than Daniel, every finalist could actually sing. On the first show, other than Daniel, I thought everyone had a chance of winning. Oh, except the girl bands who went first, they fucking sucked.

Glad Daniel's gone now.  :)

I really cannot stand Diana. She annoys me so much in everything she does. She whinges when she talks, she makes a "poor me" drama out of everything (even more than we come to expect on this show), she overplays/relies too much on her "broken" singing style, she does that stupid thing with her hands over and over, and she's a bloody shoeless hippy who can't afford a hairbrush. No, I don't like her.

Never been fond of Rachel either. I agreed at the beginning that she had talent that needed to be brought out of her, but she's had far too many chances now. She's had two performances on the show that weren't terrible, and should not have outlasted Austen or Laura (who I didn't particularly rate but was okay). She also comes across as someone you couldn't bear to be around for any length of time, so I'd pity everyone working on her tour and album if she won.

My favorites are JLS, Ruth, and Alexandra. With the right songs, JLS could be (or could deserve to be) the first group to win it. Alexandra's a belter but I wouldn't count on her winning at this stage. Ruth is far too good to have been in the bottom two as often as she has, so I wonder if Dannii was right when she commented on the disadvantage of not having a whole town or region within the UK voting for her out of loyalty.

He doesn't irritate me as much as he used to, and he's even getting a little better, but he's blatantly getting by on the cute factor. According to one of the papers he consistently gets the most votes each week, which is ridiculous.

They should make people type the act's name when texting their vote, then his score would plummet.

I say Diana is decent, but I don't really like her much. She looks like a tramp and her hand thing she does pisses me off, but her voice is not bad-but not the best, she doesn't deserve to be one of the favourites to win. Eoghan (why do people say Owen? I always thought it was said 'U-gan') annoys me quite a lot, I don't get why he's the favourite to win. Everyone seems to love those two though.

Also, I don't get all the hate on Daniel. He wasn't a bad singer.

I'm not trying to tell you how to to your job or anything but could you split this thread and put it intot he entertainment section or something?

Daniel fucking sucked. Well, he wasn't that bad, he had a decent enough voice. But he wasn't a popstar, or any kinda public singer type person. He's like Steve Brookstein, or Andy the Binman from the other year... they get votes cause, I dunno, the older women watching think he a "nice young man" or something, but he never gunna make it. So was frustrating to see people like Austin, who I thought would be final 3 at least, go out and him stay when he just going no where. Might get a job on a cruise now or something, but he's the kinda guy that might get to number 41 in the charts, if he lucky.

And Eoghan is like this year's Leon, didnt really know he could sing, thought he'd give it a try and turns out he got this raw talent. And I like how he kinda living the dream, must be awesome to be him right now. Plus apparently he fucking Diana. Ionno why I aint insanely jealous of him, but I want him to win. Or Diana, cause I wanna fuck her.

Hate that thing she does with her hands though. At first it was kinda sweet and cute, but now its really annoying her waving her hands around infront of her face all the time. And she sucked this week. On radio 1, Comedy Dave the other day was saying how he thinks she sings like Cilla Black, like on the long notes she makes this kinda half throat/half nose noise. Anyway, I didn't see it until this week but that last note she did was hilarious, I actually burst out laughing. She sounded like Orvil.

I like Eoghan for same reason I liked Leon too. Part of me thinks i'm not a terrible singer, I just need to train my voice or something. I'm never gunna, cause I'm gay enough as it is. But I like to think they're living that dream for me.  :)

Don't by dissing Andy the binman, he actually was good, and did have/has had something of a career after the show (he just doesn't show up on TMF and The Box, etc).

Daniel was alright, but not in the same league. He was great when he got going on the powerful sections of a song, but really couldn't do the low verses at all. Could say the same for Laura (and quite a lot of them really).

And Eoghan is like this year's Leon

Exactly, exploiting the national pride/inferiority complex of his country to storm the votes, just like Leon ("THE WHOLE OF SCOTLAND'S GONNA BE VOTING FOR YOU!!!"). This week was the first time they even mentioned which town on the Emerald Isle he comes from, and only because they had to since it was the "everyone goes back to visit their family" episode.

And I like how he kinda living the dream

They're all living the dream. And if he didn't know he could sing like you say, then it's not even a serious dream he's had that long.

Plus apparently he fucking Diana.

Now that's just disturbing in all kinds of ways.

And she sucked this week.

Stop it.

Quite an eventful week on the X Factor front.

Most importantly, Rachel is finally gone. Not a moment too soon. If the judges had saved her over JLS I'd have broken everything in the room.

Euaogeuoan should have been in the bottom two. Simon as much as admitted that he used the backing singers to cover for the kid's inability to hit the high note that Gary & Mark (whose song it is) had stressed was such an important part. And he's basically useless every week anyway, surviving only for the cheap reasons mentioned in my last post.

As far as the return performances go, Same Difference were blatantly miming, but I don't think Rhydian was. He was incredible as always. Here's the guy who lost to Leon. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the Great British Public.

Louis' such a jackass. He's an amusing little Irish characture most of the time, but the way he constantly turns everything into a dig at the other judges - usually Simon, but in this case Dannii and making her cry (so I presume he was going on and on about it during the ad break) - is just pathetic.

Britney in the house next week...
