I don't know about having Off Topic mixed with the games and other stuff, although I like the idea of games, graphics, and other hobbies all being added together.

Off Topic has potential for a lot more serious discussions that would seem out of place alongside "Name the Show" or "My Linkin Park Banner" (just making stuff up for examples :D ).

Maybe have the not-yet-existant Creative folder as a sub-folder in Entertainment? Afterall, forum games and graphics could qualify as general entertainment - yet they're too...spammy to mingle with general entertainment discussions.

Taking a page out of your book here (using some of your ideas, too):

How I'd organize it:

Site Related Forums
-Announcements/Suggestions
-Get to Know

Wrestling
-General Wrestling (anything not directly TNA or WWE related)
-WWE
-TNA

General Forums
-General Discussion
-Entertainment (Movies, TV, Games along with Fun & Games, Graphics, e.t.c.)
-No Holds Barred

...regardless of the order, perhaps retooling the names would be good, too? Give everything some added flavor like "No Holds Barred". Wrestling terminology would be the most obvious course, although it's not the most creative (although it's less...generic).

I think it's worth bearing in mind that once we start merging folders, there's no going back. If, for instance, we pour all WWE threads into a single folder, we can't then decide to separate those threads into brands later down the line should we change our collective minds.

When we added the TNA and ECW folders, it was a manageable task to sort through General Wrestling for the relatively small number of related threads, but for RAW and SmackDown at this stage it would be, for all intents and purposes, impossible. Recreated brand folders would therefore hold only new threads from that point forward, making searches for old posts quite confusing ("Is it in the SmackDown folder, or old enough to be in the merged pile?") and the overall structure inconsistent.

I'm not saying we definitely shouldn't do it, I just thought I'd point that out while the possibilities are being considered. All suggestions are still worth thinking about and discussing.

I just don't see much point in seperate folders for them anymore.

Sure, they're technically different rosters but the rosters and storylines bleed into eachother all the time. Besides, it would look better activity wise if there was one busy folder than three moderately busy folders. If there hasn't been an ECW discussion in a week, it wouldn't be as painfully obvious as it would be now.

And as an added bonus, the threads for the latest episodes of RAW, SmackDown, and ECW could always be pinned at the top of the general wrestling section for the week - which would be plenty organized enough.

I have another constructive criticism I'm not sure how to approach without people getting their feeling hurt, so I'm just going to say it. But, please don't get too pissed, cause I still love you guys.  ;)

I think that the moderators, Gopher and Poison, need to step up their game. I'm not sure how you guys have the responsibilities of the board set, but I always assumed that Mods were assigned certain sections to be responsible for and it was their job to make active topics and discussions. I know every poster should do that, but for example, if you are the person responsible for the wrestling section, shouldn't you search the news sites, WWE and TNA and RoH sites for the news and post relevant stuff daily? Keep the flow going? As I said, I know all posters could do this, but the Mods are suppose to right? Every day I come on here I see Headliner has some random topic started at least. He's trying to keep new discussions going.

Like I said, we could all help out, but that's how it appears to me outside looking in.

OK...you can yell at me now. :hide:

To be fair on the mods, it's never been in their job description to do that. I know that's how some forums operate, but TheGopher and The Poison's positions simply ask for them to keep the place in order with regards to deleting spam, moving threads, banning Purplemarauder, whoops, getting ahead of myself. That kind of thing. They do like to help out in other ways too, but they haven't been asked as mods to post more threads than anyone else.

Is combining the wrestling folders something people are generally in favor of then?

The WWE ones, yes for me. Not all of them, just WWE.

Then I straight out apologize. I was under the assumption that was part of the job description. If it isn't on PWH, then they are doing an excellent job. Having said that, I would suggest that we all make a better effort to find and keep up with new news and daily topics to help stimulate the forum activity.

As far as the folders go, I would combine the wrestling folders the way Kraul suggested.

I believe that as part of being a mod, we're expected to be active posters. Whether or not that means creating new threads or keeping discussion moving in existing threads, in my mind, we're held more accountable for making posts than other members. And sure enough, if we did post more, you guys would have a lot more to talk about.

That being said, it's been my intention as of late to be more involved. I've tried making new threads, in the General folder, and posting in existing ones throughout the boards. I agree though, I need to step up my game. :)
