Favorite CDs this year...so far
« on: April 09, 2003, 06:43:15 PM »

In my opinion, 2003 is off to a great start in terms of the music that has been released.  Some really amazing albums have come out this year, and looking at the future releases for 2003 it looks as though it is going to get better and better!  So what are your favorite albums that came out this year so far?  And of which albums scheduled to come out later this year are you most anticipating the release?

My favorite CDs of 2003 so far:

Godsmack - Faceless
Linkin Park - Meteora
Lil' Kim - La Bella Mafia
The White Stripes - Elephant
Evanescence - Fallen
Stereomud - Every Given Moment

The CDs scheduled to be released later this year that I am looking forward to most:

Marilyn Manson - The Golden Age of Grotesque 5/13/03 (My 20th Birthday!  My favorite band's CD is coming out on my birthday, how cool is that!?!)
Madonna - American Life  4/22/03
Metallica - St. Anger  6/10/03

Limp Bizkit - Bipolar (I think they changed the title again though) June 2003
Cold - The Year of the Spider  5/13/03
[/b]  (Really good CDs are coming out on my birthday this year!  I am so excited!)

I've also heard that Orgy and Nine Inch Nails are coming out with new CDs this year, but I haven't heard much about them.  I love both of these bands so hopefully the rumors I've heard about them dropping new albums in 2003 are true!

My favorite CD this year so far, hands down is Meteora. I useally get remixes and such but I decided to get a hold of Meteora because I liked Hybrid Theroy so much. Now I can't stop listening to the CD. Favorite song so far is Easier To Run. Raw emotion man. I suggest everybody who's into Linkin Park to pick this CD up, it's worth it.

Holywood?

Anyway, the only CD's I'm looking forward to getting so faris Meteora and The Golden Age of Grotesque. I'll probably be getting Meteora later today though.

I haven't bought any CD's that have come out this year. I rarely ever buy CD's when they first come out because they might just be a temporary thing for me. If I still like them a few months down the road, then I'll get the CD.

Besides, I think about 70% of the music that's popular nowadays is crap anyway. :grumble:

I just got the New Linkin Park CD. Goddamn is it great! I havent put it down since i bought it. This has got to be me my current favorite CD!

The only thing is, that some tracks sound like they skip. I don't know if that is part of the songs, or if i have a bad CD and need to take it back for an exchange?

No Dallas, that skipping is actually part of the song.  Your CD is fine.

I've actually learned that I actually don't like Meteora. I thought I would since I have Re-Animation and Hybrid Theory, but I don't like Meteora. So, I'm glad I didn't buy it, but I'm in the minority. :eyebrow2:

Wait... What? You don't like Meteora? It's their best CD to date. I thought you'd like the emotion and shit. Oh well, to each his own.

It's not their best to me. The first two CD's are perfect for me. Each song is very powerful emotionally and most of those songs can apply to how I feel. Especially "Crawling" (no pun intended) and "By Myself".

Meteora seems, I don't know, less than great. Not to mention "Somewhere I Belong" is very overplayed and annoying me with your first single off an album is not a way to get me to buy the CD. ;)

I agree about the "Some Where I Belong" single being overplayed. I think "Numb" should have been their first single. Also, at first I thought this new album was less then Hybrid Theroy, but I gave it a chance and it grew on me to the point where I can't stop listening to it, in fact, I'm listening to "Numb" right now.

I figured you'd like it and "Hit The Floor" or "Numb" would have been your new theme song. Like I said before though, "Oh well, to each his own"

I just got the AFI CD "Sing the Sorrow".  Let me tell you that I love this CD!  It's really awesome!  I thought I was only going to like "Girls Not Grey", but I was pleasantly suprised to see that this whole CD is amazing!  They are different than a lot of bands out there...I like bands who are unique.  The music is so emotional...I can't get enough of it!  It really is fantastic!  I recommend it to everyone!
