Paying money this year on my taxes.

Getting my hopes up only to have them utterly destroyed each and every single time. It's almost enough to make me believe there is something more to life than birth->living->death and that whatever is calling the shots either loves to fuck with me or simply hates me. Kind of like starving someone but occasionally giving them a loaf of bread only to take it away halfway through the consumption to start the process all over again. It's never going to end until I do.

I realised how awful this truth was when the song popped into my mind while at the laundromat today for some bizarre reason and I begun to sing it to myself for like ten minutes.

Luckily no one else was there.

Racism, Rape, Child abuse, Poverty, Terorrism, Communal stereotypes, the world's obsession with celebrities, TV news channels showing someone getting beaten up by other people when they should be trying to save the person being beaten instead, the list goes on and on.

Ah, this whole world is sad, depressing and transient.

They could save that one person being beaten up, or they could film it and raise awareness of the problem, potentially saving many more.

Well, that holds true for something like the Tibet riots coverage, but what I'm talking about is something exclusive to some of the Indian news channels. They will show petty thieves being beaten up by the mobs in villages of Bihar, they will show Marathi Navnirman Sena workers beating up North Indians and damaging their property in Maharashtra, they will conveniently shoot a tribal woman being stripped naked and chased on the streets by a rowdy mob in North-East India, but they won't do anything to help the victim, even though they blame the nearby people for not helping the persons in distress. Tell me, will this sort of news coverage help in saving people, or is it just a blatant display of sensational journalism for gaining higher TRP's ? Aren't these media persons and the camera persons also responsible for the victim's plight ?

As long as people watch it and don't do anything to stop it, it'll continue. So you'd better settle in and get cozy, because it's not going to stop anytime soon.
