Not sure if I've understood you Jackal, but it's not worth jumping onto SMG2 until you're finished with the first game. It's pretty much more of the same, so you may as well keep going with SMG1 unless you get really stuck. Right up to the end there's always something new waiting for you on the next planetoid.

ok im playing infamous, and i dont know what is the hype on this game, this game is garbage, prototype is way much better than this, the game will not show you where youre going, i did 5 tries until i found that i was supposed to go to the sewers, climbing is stupid, camera is wonky, aiming sucks ass, dodging well you have to press right or he will jump for enemies to shoot him, and i dont know why im getting killed after 2 shots, for god sakes he has powers and he was killed by 2 innocent bullets? this game is bullshit

Prototype sucked the plot was garbage.

Yeah I meant once I've finished the first one, I didn't mean directly after my marathon run last night. Only did a couple of galaxies last night however.. got loads left yet, on about 37 stars now.

I "completed" the story on Super Mario Galaxy 2 this afternoon, with the bare minimum of 70 stars going into the final battle with Bowser. I've still plenty more to collect though, with more levels opening up too.

The Throwback Galaxy is a thing of beauty. It wasn't any of the Mario 64 stages that had come to mind when anticipating this remade level, so it still had the surprise factor. It's strange how an old location kept exactly the same but with sharper graphics can have such an effect, but it's just indescribably awesome. Even more nostalgic than Spiral Mountain in Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. Warm fuzzy feelings all round.

I've beaten Bowser on Super Mario Galaxy now and I've got 97 stars altogether, think I'm gonna call it quits here simply because I find the purple coin stars boring as hell. I'm gonna trade it in tomorrow along with Prince Of Persia and maybe get Super Mario Galaxy 2. I'll see what's come out for Xbox, since I've been playing this, first though.

What did you end up getting?

I think I've gone about as far as I can in Super Mario Galaxy 2 now. I've toppled Bowser and collected 91 stars. I might keep pushing a while longer because I hate to leave new levels undiscovered, but the stars that I have to go back and scrape from the bottom of the barrel to progress any further are the most difficult ones that I've previously given up on. I enjoy a challenge but there comes a point where you have to measure your frustration against the likelihood of reward.

Not sure what I'll move onto next. I really should go back and finish Yakuza 2...

In the end I got Alien Vs Predator, which I now wish I hadn't bothered with as I've only played it once. The controls seem a bit fumbly, and the enemies are too good at spotting you. Especially when you're the Predator and have your camouflage on.. it's ridiculous. In short, I didn't find it that fun.. so I will probably trade it in soon. I'm thinking Red Dead Redemption next, but as it's still pretty pricey (even pre-owned) I may have to wait until next payday.

For the past week I've been debating on whether or not I should get Alien vs Predator 3 used. I watched a video review and part of a Let's Play for the Marine mission and I really don't know if I want to.

Biggest turn off for me is that the Predator missions would be the main appeal for me and it seems they messed it up. I saw a Predator with his blades out punch a guy multiple times to get him to fall. That should not be that way.

I really should go back and finish Yakuza 2...

I made the leap back into this game today. Some of the finer points to the controls will take some re-learning, but it's simple enough for the most part. What's confusing is the story. Following all the various families and clans and triads is difficult at the best of times, and distinguishing between all the Japanese names. Even after reading the updated bios on the pause screen I'm still struggling to remember what's going on. I'm a little too far in to just start again though, so I'll have to pick it up as I go along.

And now I've just finished Yakuza 2.

Wow.

Slightly ashamed I had to resort to gunpower in the final battle, but one more strike would have killed me, and the last opportunity to save was just toooooo long ago to even contemplate dying now.

Good job I don't have a PS3 to play it on yet, or I'd be jumping straight into Yakuza 3 already.
