Because Eric Bischoff fired Steve Austin on RAW this week, Austin is now a free agent. Which means, there is no reason in hell why Stephanie McMahon can't sign The Rattlesnake to SD!. Hopefully, this is what will happen, but I've heard reports about Austin taking some time off due to some nagging injuries and this firing angle could be his way out for a while.
BUT, if Stone Cold does wind up on SmackDown!, there are some great feuds waiting for him! First off, there is Lesnar vs. Austin. I have wanted to see this feud for a long time, and if Austin goes to SmackDown!, this feud is inevitable.
Secondly, there is Hollywood Hulk Hogan. This match would be very interesting as both men can be greatly attributed to the success of WWE over the past 20+ years (Hogan in the 80's/early 90's, Austin in the mid/late 90's).
Then there is the feud we were promised when Austin walked out on WWE some 11 months ago...Austin vs. Benoit. This would no doubt produce some memorable matches and moments. Plus, Benoit makes a wonderful heel.
Then there is Rhyno, Nathan Jones, and even Austin's feuds with Undertaker and Kurt Angle can be revived. Austin would breath some new life into a stagnant SmackDown!. Hopefully he moves to Thursday nights, and doesn't take another lengthy hiatus.
