I thought that last night's episode of Raw was very strong and very solid. The match of the night, IMO, was the Hurricane/HHH match. I am not a huge fan of HHH, nor am i a hater of his work. But i do want to point out how hard HHH worked to put over Hurricane. Those near falls actually had me wondering whether or not Hurricane could score a win over 2 of WWE's biggest stars within a month (the first being rock of course)
That match that did nothing for me was the tag team match. I just don't understand this Dudley boy angle. They were turned heel b/c they had nothing left to give the division as a face. But now, we see that the only reason they are doing what they are doing is becausue they are forced to do it in order to keep their job, thus giving them a bit more face heat. Very confusing times. And of course, who didn't notice that in a tag team match with 3 teams in it, that only one team was a legitmate tag team and not a "mix together" of two single stars! Its painful watching a once proud division die like this.
Another thing that was hyped up was they Austin firing storyline. I am pretty sure that this is just to get Austin to Raw. Steph can now say how Bischoff made a mistake by letting go the biggest star ever, and that even though Austin has some medical problems that he is still welcomed to compete on SD!. Thats really the best thing for the companly and Austin at this poin/t. He really has nothing left to do on Raw, unless they try to continue this whole boss/employee storyline. If that is the case then would someone please take the stick out of their hands! Geez, the horse is dead, give it a rest!
Of course, one can not leave out the entire Goldberg debut. I found it to be very weak, and very disappointing, and i'll leave it at that.
I like the way the HBK/Jericho and Booker/HHH storylines are intertwining. Maybe that means WWE is going to let these two storylines continue for atleast another month. That would be great IMO, because all of these guys put on great matches at 'Mania.
All in all, i would rate Raw as an 9/10, maybe even a 9.5/10. Great show, and a strong effort
